A white man who invaded the prime minister’s office less than 12 months ago has ramped up his efforts to force local councils to celebrate Australia Day on the same day the country was invaded by white people in 1788.
Several councils around the country voted to move the day to a less contentious day, including Yarra City Council which replaced its “Australia Day” celebrations with an event “marking the loss of Indigenous culture”.
Scott Morrison has been virtue signalling today in the Northern Territory on the significance of the current date of Australia Day.
“We’ve had a very long-held tradition of Australia Day being commemorated on January 26 all the way back since 1994,” Morrison told reporters.
Morrison has suggested local councils could invade aboriginal homes on Australia Day to celebrate the occasion.
“If they could steal some land and children too, that would be a bonus.”
