US President Donald Trump is poised to impose tariffs on all laughter during his speeches overseas, following an address to the United Nations General Assembly defending his “America First” policies.
“Believe me, I have tremendous chuckle tariffs ready to go on short notice if I want,” Trump said.
A member of the German delegation was seen choking on a mint following Trump’s claim he “had accomplished more than any other administration in history”.
US government officials believe an increase in a tariff on laughter would strengthen America and weaken its enemies.
“That’s basically any other country,” said one US official.
Trump said he was not afraid to also use “grumble tariffs” after there were negative reactions to his rejection of “globalism ideologies”.
“We’re going to take care of it, they’re gonna be yuuuge,” Trump tweeted.
