US President Donald Trump has said he doesn’t not reject US intelligence agencies’ conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 election.

He said he had misspoken on Monday and had meant to say he saw “no reason why it was not Russia that didn’t meddle”.

“I didn’t not say I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia,” Trump told reporters.

Moments later he told reporters in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, “Let me be totally clear in saying that … I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion” Trump said, reading from a prepared script. He then added: “It could be other people also. There’s a lot of bad hombres out there.”

He added that “there was no reason why I wouldn’t not have full faith” in US intelligence agencies.
