Prime Minister Scott Morrison has written a series of tweets to Christian leaders telling them they are not responsible for child sexual abuse.
“Christians don’t need to have a meeting, they don’t need to do anything,” Morrison tweeted.
Morrison delivered a national apology to thousands of victims of child sexual abuse last month, mostly at the hands of a large minority of Christians, but believes it will mostly sort itself out.
Muslim leaders, on the other hand, have been accused of making their communities “less safe and more vulnerable” by boycotting a meeting called by the prime minister in the lead up to the Victorian state election.
Morrison said Muslim leaders should be held responsible for the actions of a small minority.
