Prime Minister Scott Morrison has apologised on behalf of the nation for institutional child sex abuse for being the one that says sorry to the victims and survivors.
Mr Morrison told Parliament there was no promise that could be made and nothing that could be done to right the wrongs of the past.
But he said he was deeply sorry he was the one that had to apologize for it given he was just a caretaker prime minister.
“I’m sorry this apology is suffering from the distraction of a government in turmoil,” said Morrison.
“At least I’m a born-again Christian though, so that has some relevance.”
More to come.
