Farmers facing violence in South Africa have been earmarked for exclusive consideration by the Australian government.
“Deciding if someone is a hardworking persecuted individual is clearly black and white,” Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton told reporters on Thursday.
“These are the ones that need special attention.”
The South African Government has dismissed Mr Dutton’s comments saying its farmers are not in danger.
But Mr Dutton says he is more concerned about the black and white component of the debate and is encouraging South African farmers to come to Australia.
“There are certain people who deserve to jump the queue,” he said.
