Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton has lauded Turkey’s border control force fighting against invasion during WWI.
“As a leader of a fellow sovereign nation I can fully respect the harsh means Turkey used to protect its borders,” Dutton said in his Anzac Day dawn service speech.
Dutton expressed his envy for Turkey’s employment of heavy artillery to secure the front lines.
“I’d love to be able to mow down some boats with machine guns,” said Dutton.
“Then we could get rid of the boat people and forget them once and for all.”
