Prime Minister Scott Morrison has declared “radical, violent, extremist Islam” the greatest threat in Australia and bee stings in the wake of the Bourke street attack, with 6 deaths caused by Islamic terrorism and 27 deaths caused by bees in the past 50 years.
“That’s only 21 people less than were killed from bee stings,” Morrison told reporters.
Morrison has called on Islamic leaders and bees to call out the violence and alert authorities to dangerous members of their communities.
“I call on leaders of Islamic and bee communities to denounce the violence,” he said.
“Here in Australia we would be kidding ourselves if we did not call out the fact that our greatest threats are religious extremism and bees.”
