The government has “created an additional 1 million” dead fish along a stretch of the Lower Darling River, according to local residents.

“These ones aren’t part-time, they’re permanently dead fish,” said one local.

The LNP, who are renowned for being extremely tough on crime, are expected to immediately setup a royal commission into the environmental catastrophe.

There are reports that former agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce was responsible for the over-allocation of water resources for irrigation used by cotton farmers, however, Joyce says “water theft allegations are not a matter for the Commonwealth”.

The NSW government is blaming the drought for the environmental disaster.

NSW Regional Water Minister Niall Blair was last seen on a speedboat bolting down the Darling River to avoid protesters.
