A man seeking a better life has stolen the top Australian job.

Boat person Peter Dutton who sought refuge on the backbench of the House of Representatives earlier this week has now cheated a good merchant banker out of a job.

A somber Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull told reporters his economic plan had successfully created one new job.

“I had an economic plan for job and growth,” said Turnbull.

“We couldn’t have an onion, turnip, and potato all rotting on the backbench.”

Turnbull supporters voiced their disappointment of the current politics of envy climate.

“It’s disgraceful that we are enviously stealing from each other – we should be stealing from the general population to give to the banks,” said Treasurer Scott Morrison.
