Australia is considering a potential move to deregister its latest prime minister for using children to earn political points.
Australia says the former immigration minister Scott Morrison was a key figure in the “boat turn-back strategy” and locking up kids on Nauru and Manus Island.
The government managed to successfully carry out the strategy by keeping boat arrivals secret until last week with an election fast approaching.
Many refugee children in Nauru are at “high risk of suicide” because they are being “held against their will by political thugs”.
“ScoMo should be deregistered for using children of desperate families as political tools,” said one commenter on Twitter.
