Former prime minister Tony Abbott has arrived to parliament today wearing a pair of fabulous luxury items.
Commenting on Tony Abbott’s attire Deputy Labor leader Tanya Plibersek said it was a “dumb decision” to include tampons.
“Look, ah, you can’t, ah, apply, ah, politically correct to everything, ah,” said Abbott.
“I’m more than happy, ah, to pay tax on these, ah, fabulous trinkets.”
Abbott said the government needs to “broaden the tax base”, not “start carving out, ah, politically correct exceptions”.
Plibersek voiced her concerns that Abbott could potentially start attending parliament wearing a sanitary pad around his head.
“Where does it end?” she said.
“Next he’ll want to create tax-free religions.”
Abbott told reporters, “It always ends with condoms and Viagra”.
